Hi there. Previously there was a form here that collected information and sent it to us in a slightly more organized fashion, but it was attracting a lot of spam. A ridiculously large amount. So we removed it. If you'd like to add your URL to this site, you'll have to exchange links with us, and you'll have to propose that via an actual email you'll actually have to write and send to us. This should make it clear that whether or not we add your site will be a decision made by living breathing humans that will read and consider your email. This is not an automated process. It is our hope that this will not discourage legitimate folks with legitimately worthwhile sites from exchanging links with us, but will discourage total crap sites from "spamming" us via the form.

We'd be honored to exchange links with you if you have a worthwhile site with worthwhile content. If we list you, we'd do so here on our Cool Sites page, which is one link from our index. That should be useful to you, especially if you include desired-keyword-rich linking text and/or description in the link we'll add for your site.

Our preferred linking text and description is here. We require that you link to us first or be willing to link to us within one week of us linking you. This site runs on free publicity, so you have to give us some for us to return the favor. If you send us email requesting a link but do not provide one back, we will delete you. And detest you. You and your little dog too. Please don't. Not nice.

The link you provide us must be:

1. accessible from your true index page. By index page we mean your TRUE index page, not one created just for linking. (This really shouldn't require explaining, but we've had some 'spammy' submissions along these lines so we're clarifying now.) For instance, the index page for this site is: http://www.roommateroommateroommate.com NOT some duplicate of the page with extra links and coding added to look like our index page, but actually just be a duplicate doorway/dummy (i.e. http://www.roommateroommateroommate.com?ref=61985462) to fool others into thinking we're linking to them from our main page. We won't attempt to deceive you with bull**** nonsense, please return the favor.

2. accessible from your true index page within no more than 3 clicks from that page. Meaning, no pages buried too deeply within the site for search engines to find them, and no "island" pages that aren't accessible at all from your true index page.

3. you need to be willing to leave the link up indefinitely - or for an agreed upon time. We will be checking. Please don't agree to place a link to us on your site then remove it after some brief period, we will be checking.

4. Your site must have worthwhile content. What is worthwhile? While this is a bit difficult to define, in general, we feel that worthwhile would indicate a site with interesting and/or valuable content for the surfer even if they don't pay you money. Having something for sale isn't necessarily a problem, but if the entire content of your site is just various repetitions of, "Buy My Widget," with nothing else a'tall for the surfer . . . well . . .

What else does "worthwhile" mean to us? It might be easier to say what it does NOT mean. Here are some types of sites we would NOT find it worthwhile to list in our directory:

• Porn (we have nothing against porn, but we don't require "adult content" consent to browse our site, so think it would be inappropriate to link to any)
• MLM marketing schemes
• those really revolting "sex tourism" vacation promo sites
• If you're a site marketing products through an affiliate, you need to also have your own unique content. Just a bunch of affiliate links through a new URL is very, very lame.
• Sites with little or no content other than being a directory of other sites. We won't recommend directories. There's already plenty of them out there. We will only recommend the content of actual sites with some to offer.
• Strictly personal home pages. There's definitely room here if the site is large and interesting enough, but if it's just a few snapshots of you, your family, and the family dog . . or something similar . . . no. If you want to find a roommate, place an ad in the roommate forum, you can include your personal URL there.
• A site that's still mostly under construction. Please wait and contact us when it's at least mostly finished.
• Anything promoting anything illegal (prescription drugs without a prescription, etc.)
• Anything promoting any erection pills, even if it is legal. We think the world's heard enough about that already.
• Anything having to do with online gambling/casinos. We just don't like them. It's money for nothing. I mean, c'mon, there's not even an actual building with actual dealers. Donate that money to a good charity.
